Management of the Organizations.

To help in the professional management and ensuring the success of the project, a team of five board of management to advise and provide expertise on the projects were nominated to serve for 3 years.

Margaret Maogosa – Strategy and Scholarships Consultant– Board Member

Margret is a highly competent, motivated, detail oriented, enthusiastic management professional, and leader with experience of working as part of a team and network of support for High achieving low income students in higher learning institutions. Her accumulated experience for over 10 years within higher learning institution and scholarship linkages is a worthy contribution to the board.

She is an accomplished business and strategic development professional. Her expertise in some of the leading institutions like the United States International University-Africa Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program is recommendable. Margaret is passionate about connecting with partners and being part of the teams that transforms people’s lives

Yashon Misasa – Financial Expert – Board Member

Yashon is an all-round financial expert with greater experience in establishing financial and accounting systems and policies. He has led various financial auditing processes for many organizations for more than a decade. Additionally, Yashon advanced knowledge on financial budgeting and compliances is exemplary. He joins the board to provide expertise in all the finance and accounting functions. Also advising on the management of all the funds received both in cash and in kind. He will also be the community representative in the Board.

Teresa Akoko – Education Specialist – Board Member.

Teresa also known as “Mother Teresa of Generation Z” is an Education Specialist and passionate about community Health and Social work.  Her wealth of experience as a teacher, Voluntary Child Officer, Behavior Change Communicator and Trainer handling issues on Adolescent, Mentorship, Girl Child Education, Children Wellbeing and Career Guidance is recommendable. She is also a motivational speaker for students on matters of academic performance and on women empowerment topics. Her contribution within the Homabay County Region has been exemplary. She brings in over 30 years accumulated work experience within the education and social service set-up. Currently she is working with the County Government of Homabay and supporting various Non-Governmental Organizations specifically in areas of ECDE, WASH (Public Health), Sexual and Reproductive Health, and Rights (SRH&R), Family Counselling and Child Care.  She holds Master in Education from Moi University-Kenya.  She joins the board to provide her expertise in Education and also lead and continue the legacy of Madam Benta Asingo into the board.

Thuranira Thumiati – Talent Management Professional – Board Member

Thuranira is a talented and respected talent development professional. He is a member of Human Resource Management- Kenya (IHRM-K). He graduated with Bachelor of Science in Human Resources Management from Moi University – Kenya. He also has diploma in Personnel Management and Higher Diploma in HRM from Railway Training Institute – Kenya. He has over 12 years work experience from the banking industry, hospitality, healthcare industry and media industry. He is passionate about Charity work, organization development and talent development. He is Multi-talented in and outside office. You will enjoy his fusion of music talent and Human Resources Management. Great content creator and reviewer. He loves cycling, basketball and music

He has joined the board to help bring into reality the talent development programs at Mama Benta Community Centre. Thuranira has worked with various youth groups nationally. He is greatly experienced in managing and understanding group dynamics and developing alternative income generating products for the youths. MBCC will benefit from his expertise in the management and operations especially on People management functions and managing talents.

MBCC values their team members. We operate as a family not tied by blood  but defined by purpose. We believe that you cannot empower communities if you cant walk the talk. We therefore lead by example.

To enable handle our work energies well and deliver effectively we have adopted a flexible way of working where we value the time spent by our team members. We encourge an active 5 hours shift to work on the organization roles and leave the rest of the hours for personal development as well as allow time for the staff to practice what they teach to the community members at their personal level. Listening to the concern of the workforce and collectively finding a win-win solution is our way of doing things. We are always guided by the SCALII model in whatever we do and we ensure all our team members has mastered the model. Our team comprises of professionals who runs the organization daily on a full time, Par time or hybrid basis and over 100 local and international volunteers supporting various programs. Mrs. Janet Adhiambo NgesoEducation and Administration Officer.

Janet is a greater contributor to MBCC having worked within the Education sector. She is  a teacher by profession and she supports the MBCC programs in all areas of administration and education programs specifically coordinating the knowledge Centres and the Literacy Program.

Mr. Samwel Asingo – Education and Children Rights Leader

 

Samwel is a professional teacher handling Early Year’s Education and Primary level Education. He has been teaching for 20 Years both in private and in public schools. His experience as classroom teacher, senior teacher, program coordinator in teachers training college and management of Community Based Organization has reshaped him to become a great advocate for compassion and care for all. He has led, managed and improved the standards of education at different levels specifically at the Early Years level whereas he has advocated for greater education foundation for all children and their rights to education.

 

Professionally, he holds a Bachelor of Education in Primary and Early Childhood Education from Moi University and P1 – Certificate in Primary Teacher Education. Coupled with various professional development courses that includes CBC trainings, WASH for School. Basic Counselling Skills as well as Project management.

Samwel leads all the education partnership projects.His main role is coordinating with various education stakeholders in all education programs that MBCC complements.

 

Timothy Odhiambo Ogutu – Communication Support Officer (CSO)

Tim is a compassionate media professional. Most of his experience is in sound technique, voice recording, photography and video recording. Timothy supports MBCC communication network and he ensures MBCC presence reaches the globe. He also leads the the MBCC studio and PA system program.

 

Rhoda Miyere –  Micro-Business Empowerment Leader

Rhoda has been doing fish business for over 15 years. Her experience in value addition for the sardines (Omena) and supplying to families across various cities in Kenya is worth sharing. Rhoda joins MBCC as a living testimony that can be emulated by low-income earners that it is very possible to live within your means to survive under difficult situation. Rhoda who has been trained on various micro-business strategies. She is now a trainer on women led micro-business initiative under the MBCC programs.
